Last week I had the pleasure of visiting Montego Bay, Jamaica.

It’s been a while since I’ve been there and I loved it so much I’m already planning my return! I stayed at the S Hotel and don’t think I’ll stay anywhere else in Montego Bay. S Hotel is a 10 minute drive from the airport, located right on the “Hip Strip”. It’s walking distance to a few attractions such as Margaritaville and Mo Bay Craft Market. It’s a small, all inclusive resort that is more in line with something you’d see in Miami Beach vs the mega resorts in the Caribbean. The ocean view spa rooms are gorgeous! They are big enough to pass for small apartments with stunning views of the main pool and beach, double sinks, a huge walk in shower with 3 showerheads and a free standing soaking tub. I recommend that you upgrade to at least a regular ocean view room, the basic rooms are small and overlooking the parking lot.

There is a main pool and a rooftop pool that is glass enclosed and great for photo ops. Catching a sunset from this rooftop was stunning.

The food was pretty good for an all-inclusive! While it’s not a lot of dining options, just 2 restaurants (1 fancy sit down and 1 buffet), a pool bar/grill and a 24 hour coffee shop, we never had a problem finding something to eat. We enjoyed traditional Jamaican dishes like jerk chicken, ackee & saltfish and callaloo along with American food like burgers and fries. There’s also 24 hour room service.

The hotel is situated right on Doctor’s Cave Beach and has crystal clear water, white fluffy sand, minimal waves and no seaweed! But I think the favorite part of my stay was enjoying the daytime pool parties. They played a mix of old school and current R&B/Hip-hip along with Jamaican music and everyone just chilled by the pool enjoying the Jamaican sun and sipping rum punch. Vaca doesn’t get much better than that!
